Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of technological change, employee competence, and innovation orientation on employee performance, with work productivity serving as a mediating variable, specifically within hotels in West Aceh Regency. The research conducted an individual-level analysis, involving a population and sample of 100 individuals from 5 hotels in the area. The data analysis method utilized was Partial Least Squares (PLS). The findings indicated that technological change does not have a significant effect on employee performance; however, employee competence positively influences performance. Moreover, innovation orientation was found to have no direct impact on employee performance. Regarding work productivity, the study showed that technological changes, competence, and innovation orientation all positively affect work productivity. Furthermore, work productivity was determined to influence employee performance. In summary, technological changes have a full mediating effect on employee performance through work productivity, while competence exerts a partial mediating effect. Innovation orientation also fully mediates the relationship between work productivity and employee performance.
