Determination of Factors Affecting Development Performance in Aceh Selatan District

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence development performance in Aceh Selatan, as a district located in the southern part of Aceh, Indonesia, with the objects being the village government leadership, community participation, and monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of development programs, and the performance of Development Performance achievements. The total population was 25,661 people. The sample selection technique used was the probability sampling technique. The Stratified Proportional Random Sampling was used as a method of sampling. While the determination of the minimum sample size in this study was determined using the Slovin formula so that the total sample size was 400 people. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires which were measured using a Likert scale. The data were analyzed using the SPSS application. The results prove on underdeveloped villages in Aceh Selatan, the Village Government Leadership, Community Participation, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Development Performance are not in a good performance; the village government leadership, community participation, and monitoring & evaluation positively and partially affect development performance; and Village government leadership, community participation, monitoring and evaluation positively and simultaneously affect Development Performance. These findings also explain that the model for improving development performance in Aceh Selatan is a function of strengthening government leadership, increasing community participation, and strengthening monitoring & evaluation.
